  Frank Ciesluk
Frank Ciesluk will tell you that his corn is the best because of the soil. Everyone else will tell you it's because of Frank. It's not unusual for a dairy farm to have a sizeable corn field to feed the cows. So, when knee replacement surgery forced Frank Ciesluk out of the dairy business, he simply cleared out some space, increased his acreage and concentrated on the corn and other vegetables.
Frank's farm was started by his parents in the 1930s as a vegetable farm. And the rich soil of the Connecticut River Valley provided the perfect bed for sweet corn. Pretty soon, Frank's corn was widely recognized as the best in the Valley. Regular shipments were being sent off to Boston and New York to satisfy those cities' cravings for farm fresh produce.

Remarkably, Frank and his family still farm in the classic style. They really baby their vegetables and they pick everything by hand to ensure that there's as little bruising as possible. Red Tomato is proud to bring you the delicious produce of Frank Ciesluk. His bum knees may be the best thing that ever happened to corn.
