Hot Blueberry Sauce


  • 3 ¼ cups blueberries
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • Vanilla ice cream or warm chocolate cake, to serve


In a nonmetallic bowl, combine the blueberries, sugar, and balsamic vinegar.  Allow to marinate for 30 minutes.

Place the berry mixture in a saucepan with 2 tablespoons water and stir over low heat for 4-5 minutes or until sugar dissolves.  Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.  Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or warm chocolate cake.
